April 8, 2024 will be an early dismissal for RSU #20 students due to the timing and updated forecast (clear and sunny skies) for the eclipse. Searsport and Stockton Springs are within the 97% totality section for Maine.
The early release is timed to make sure all students are safely home and buses are back in the garage prior to the start of the eclipse. Searsport and Stockton Springs are within the 2:20 pm initial stage. The normal dismissal process from schools begins at 2:20 pm which coincides with the initial phase of the eclipse.
Early dismissal will remain consistent with the normal RSU # 20 Early Dismissal time of 11:30 am. All buses depart at 1130. Parent pickup at 1115.
